A recognizable classic design espresso machine is the Giotto. First designed by ECM in Milan and now reimagined by Rocket. The Giotto Cronometro comes in two versions: One with Vibration pump and one with Rotary pump. This page describes the Rotary version.
The Giotto Cronometro Type R uses a commercial quality rotary pump that is powerful and quiet and suitable for incoming water pressure should it be hooked up to a waterline. The steam boiler and brew pressure gauges give you the input you need to create that perfect cappuccino. The hidden-behind-the-tray PID shows the user the temperature of the steam boiler which can easily be adjusted. And finally, the name Cronometro indicates that the machine has a discretely designed stopwatch to time your espresso shots.
Our take: Do you want a quiet commercial-quality espresso machine with powerful steam that can be directly connected to a waterline? Get the Giotto R or its sister the Mozzafiato R. Besides residential use, this machine is definitely suitable for office installation or for use in a coffee cart or small cafe.
